Lots to Admire in Many Religions
Baha’is hold great respect for ALL the major religions, but following are some elements I personally find admirable.
The Latter Day Saints have an emphasis on family, as do Baha’is; however, LDS have a formal tradition of setting aside one day a week where, together, families engage in enjoyable activities like board games.
I also admire the modesty of Islamic women wearing apparel such as the Hijab or Chador. In conversations with such women, they have shared that such dress allows them to be viewed as cogent beings, as compared with more provocative clothing that may be distracting to men. Further, who cannot admire the fact that Muslims pray five times daily?
Finally, I envy the Roman Catholics the practice of confession. For Baha’is, confession is a personal affair between each person and God alone; however, there seems to be something cathartic about hearing—concretely--that one is now forgiven.
