Members of the Bahá'í community of Sparks speak out in a new arts and media project by SAFF (Sierra Association of Foster Families) called Healthy Stages: Changing the Stories.
The purpose of the project is to create, produce, distribute for workshops, trainings, and presentation six short videos on how music, songs, dance, storytelling, theatre, painting, writing and sports can help a displaced child heal from traumatic and anticipatory grief.
Check out the discussions! Listen to the radio broadcast by 97.7 FM KWNK, Reno with director of SAFF and show host, Joseph Galata, co-host, J. Chrissi Barnett, and featured artists FARJA (Fedora McPherson, Andreina Shelton, Roxanne McPherson, and Andreini Husbands) singing a little comfort music.

Connecting, what is it?
What causes us to seek that missing link?
As humans we were created with
the innate desire to bond one with one another
It's in our DNA -- we're wired to connect.
We long to be with others like ourselves.
We seek a familiar face, a smile, a hug,
A warm glance, a shared memory,
Something that connects us to others like ourselves.
We celebrate beginnings, birthdays, endings, anniversaries.
We seek the company of like-minded -- like hearted beings like us.
We have an innate homing device that continually leads
Us back to our Source -- the Unknowable Essence that is One God.
We were created from nothing -- from and in love.
Yes, the heart belongs to the One Who created all life.
The heart is the home of none other than the Creator, the Giver of life itself.
We long to connect with the source that is love --
The heart seeks the One that is the connective link to all that is.
