Junior Youth Groups
The Bahá’í community holds a positive vision for young people in our society. They see in them altruism, a sense of justice, eagerness to learn about the world, and a desire to contribute to the construction of a better society.
As young people strive to make a positive change in themselves and their communities, they often seek environments of mutual support.
The junior youth spiritual empowerment program is designed to help youth groups (ages 11-14) form a strong moral identity while empowering them to contribute to the well-being of the world at large.
Some activities that encourage their spiritual qualities (virtues), their intellectual capabilities and their capacities for service to society include artistic expression, discussion, drama, cooperative games, the study of literature, story-telling, and acts of community service.
Themes are explored from a Bahá’í perspective, but the program is not a formal religious education. Junior youth groups meet
regularly and are open to all, subject to parental approval.
Please contact us at 775-391-3233 if you think you might be interested in helping with one of these groups. Training and
assistance are available throughout the process. Or, if you know of a group of youth who are interested in this program.
